Mark and Gloria Snyder Make Planned Gift to Mather After Years of Service and Philanthropy
Mark and Gloria Snyder met at Stony Brook University. Mark began his financial services career in 1971 and later founded his own company. “I enjoy my work helping clients save for retirement and then providing the income they need in retirement,” Mark says.
The couple has been involved with Mather Hospital for the past two decades. Mark serves on the Foundation board. Gloria has served for 20 years on the One Enchanted Evening gala committee and for 15 years as chair of the silent auction committee.
“It is important to support our local hospital, which we all turn to when we have a need,” Gloria says. “It is an excellent hospital, and I enjoy seeing the good that they do for the community,” adds Mark, who has named Mather Hospital as a beneficiary of his IRA. The couple made a $30,000 gift to the hospital to name a room in the new wing in honor of Gloria’s late mother, Mildred Beskin. “We love the care given at Mather Hospital,” says Gloria. “My mother was there a number of times, and each experience was wonderful.”
“It makes me feel good to be able to support Mather,” Mark says. “And I love to be able to help others,” adds Gloria.
